Virtual Book Drive
We are so excited to announce our P.S. 889 virtual book drive! The goal of this initiative is to support a diverse and inclusive education for our young learners. It is our belief that books serve as mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors. They are an essential tool in teaching our students self love and empathy.
If you have the means, please consider making a book donation by purchasing from our PS889 Wishlist. The wishlist was compiled by teachers and members of the Racial Equity and Social Justice Committee (RESJ). The books will go directly towards our classroom and school libraries.
You can access the wishlist via the link:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/25J6TQL8QW5YR?ref_=wl_share
When ordering from Amazon, please use the default shipping address “Nicole Barnett’s Gift Registry Address.” Nicole will be receiving the books and bundling them for teachers.
If you would prefer to purchase from an alternative or local bookstore, please inform the RESJ Committee at equityandjustice@ps889pa.org so we can update the registry quantity and arrange for pickup/drop-off.
Feel free to share this wishlist with family, friends or on social media!
