Unit 2 Nonfiction Chapter Books
Students will be able to choose a topic they know a lot of information about. Students will be given the opportunity to write a non-fiction chapter book by adding specific facts using the conjunctions (but, so because) as well as learn about and use different text features (table of contents, heading, glossary).
Unit 3 Readers Have a Big Job to Do
Students will be able to use their 'Good Habit Strategies' in order to read and understand tricky words. During guided reading lessons, students are supported on their individual reading needs. During this time, students work on reading strategies such as, looking at the picture, getting my mouth ready, chunking the word and framing to read with fluency.
Chapter 5: Addition and Subtraction Relationships
Students will continue to solve word problems and understand related facts within 20. During Exemplars
we are furthering our understanding of how to solve a word problem by using CUBES as well as using multiple strategies while using tools and resources within our math toolkits!
Unit 2: Light and Sound
Students are becoming Engineers, and will explore the question 'How do we make different parts of a surface darker or brighter?'
Unit 2: Families Now and Long Ago
Students will learn about and understand the differences and similarities of families in the past, in comparison to families in the present.
